After the Attack: What Odessa Endured Last Night
This is the 1,449th day of the war.
And once again—a difficult night for Odessa.
Drones attacked the city overnight. They struck ordinary homes. They struck people who were simply sleeping.
Apartments were damaged, windows shattered, balconies destroyed. There were fires in some places. Other facilities were also hit—including educational ones.
And the worst part is the feeling that people can lose their homes overnight. Their belongings. The normal life they had just yesterday.
We’re seeing this not on the news—but on the ground.
The Christian mission “New Life” is going where it happened. Where the pain is greatest.
Not because “we have to write about it,” but because there’s no other way.
Right now, we’re supporting those who’ve been working there since early morning: rescue workers, utility crews, volunteers.
We’re providing hot meals. These are simple things, but they’re truly needed when people are clearing debris for hours on end.
We just want people not to be left alone.
Because even in a situation like this, you can see how people stick together.
And that gives us hope.
