Our Projects

Project of the New Shelter for Elderly People and People with Disabilities Every day, more and more lonely elderly people turn to the New Life Christian Mission. Because of war, the loss of loved ones, or difficult life circumstances, they have been left on the streets. Our current shelter, designed for 60 places, has long been overcrowded, and every day we are painfully forced to turn away those asking for help because physically we have nowhere to accommodate them. That is why we made a bold and vitally important decision — to begin the construction of a new, large, and modern Shelter for elderly people and people with disabilities. “This will not be just a building, but a true home where hope and dignity return.” What will the new Shelter be like? ✓ Scale: The new complex will be able to accommodate 310 residents at the same time. Of these, 60 places will be allocated to a specialized palliative care unit for seriously ill people who require constant medical care. ✓ Medical support: A medical unit with an area of 180.93 m² is planned, where elderly people will be able to undergo regular check-ups and receive full treatment. ✓ Comfort and accessibility: A spacious dining hall with an area of 256.36 m² will provide all residents with three meals a day. Each living room is being designed with the special needs of elderly people in mind to ensure maximum comfort and privacy. ✓ Leisure and spirituality: The grounds will include green areas for rest and emotional recovery, a library, as well as rooms for spiritual fellowship and psychological support. What has already been done? Thanks to the support of our partners from Far Reaching Ministries, we have already taken the first and very important step — we purchased a land plot in the village of Velykyi Dalnyk, where the large-scale construction will begin. Enormous challenges lie ahead of us: financial, logistical, and construction-related. Building such a complex requires tremendous resources, but we believe that together we will be able to bring this project to completion. We invite everyone who cares to join in the construction. Your financial support, volunteer participation, building materials, or even an informational repost — all of these are invaluable contributions. Let us build together a place where every elderly person can spend the autumn of life in warmth, safety, and God’s love. Beginning of Shelter Construction

Shelter for Elderly People and People with Disabilities Every day, the doors of the New Life Christian Mission open to people whose lives resemble broken ships searching for a quiet harbor. These are our grandmothers and grandfathers — people whose weary hands helped build our world, yet now remain empty. Society often chooses not to notice their loneliness in old age, but to God and to us, every such soul is of immeasurable worth. Behind every face in our shelter stands a painful story. Some became victims of ruthless fraud and were left without a roof over their heads, some fled the fire of war carrying only their documents and memories, and some were simply left alone with illness, forgotten by their loved ones. We are convinced that old age is not a sunset into oblivion, but a golden autumn warmed by dignity, kindness, and sincere prayer. Here we learn to hear every story and value every wrinkle as a testimony of a life already lived. “Our goal is not simply to provide walls and a roof, but to restore a person’s lost sense of purpose. We seek to wipe the dust of despair from their hearts through spiritual support and true Christian love, which they so deeply need.” Building the Future Together: A New Home for Hundreds of Hearts Unfortunately, the walls of our current shelter can no longer accommodate everyone pleading for help. The need for mercy is growing every day, so in faith we have begun a great work — the construction of a modern complex in the village of Velykyi Dalnyk. It will not be just an institution, but a true town of hope for 310 residents. Every brick in this future home is being laid with a person in mind. We are designing a space where an elderly woman in a wheelchair will be able to move freely into the garden to admire the flowers, while those confined to bed will receive professional palliative care in bright, comfortable rooms. It will be a place where loneliness disappears, giving way to fellowship, shared meals, and the feeling of belonging to one large, caring family. We believe that together, with your support, we will build not merely walls, but a true fortress of love and comfort for those who need it most! Moments of Life and Hope Our shelter is not only a roof over one’s head, but a space where people once again find peace, care, support, and the warmth of human connection. Here, every day is filled with simple yet deeply meaningful things: shared prayer, a kind word, helping one another, and the feeling that you have not been forgotten. It is in such moments that hope is born — quiet, yet real. And it is precisely for this reason that we continue to work, to build, and to open our doors to those who need love and refuge. Mother and Child House War and domestic violence destroy the lives of many families in Ukraine every day. Hundreds of women are left alone with their children — without a home, without means of support, and without help. To support them, the New Life Christian Mission implemented one of its most important projects — the House for Mothers, Children, and Orphans. Thanks to the support of our partners, Giving Hearts International, the construction was completed, and on September 1, 2023, the project began its work. The complex is designed to accommodate 30 mothers and 70 children at the same time. Since then, the House has already become a safe shelter for more than 50 women and 80 children who were fleeing cruelty or had lost everything because of the war. Comprehensive Support for Families The Mother and Child House is not just a roof over one’s head, but an entire system of support for healing and restoration: ✓ Work of a team of specialists: psychologists, doctors, caregivers, and teachers help women and children overcome past trauma and begin healing. ✓ On-site kindergarten: little children learn, create, play, and develop in a safe and caring environment. ✓ Adaptation programs for women: mothers learn how to care for their children, manage daily life, plan for the future, and become independent. ✓ Prevention of child abandonment: the Mission works directly with maternity hospitals to help women in crisis keep their children and preserve their families instead of giving them up. The results are already visible: children begin to smile and develop again, while women radically change their lives and become caring, responsible mothers. The Mother and Child House is a sacred place where children receive their childhood back, and families receive a chance for a happy future. The Mission team continues its daily work so that more places of rescue like this may appear throughout Ukraine. If you would like to support this project through prayer or financial help, join the New Life Mission. Together, we can preserve childhood. Life in the Mother and Child House

Personality Recovery Center When people return from prison or become trapped in alcohol, drug, or gambling addiction, they often remain stuck in a closed circle of old circumstances. Many of them sincerely long for change, but they are simply unable to break out of this destructive cycle on their own. More Than Punishment Unfortunately, the penitentiary system is often focused on punishment rather than restoration. Behind bars, people frequently pass through a “school of criminal experience,” lose the last remnants of trust in society, and return to freedom even more broken than before. It is precisely to give such people a real chance at a new life that the New Life Christian Mission established the Personality Recovery Centers. “Journey to Freedom” Program How does the center work? The foundation of rehabilitation is an intensive six-month program aimed at deep restoration, rethinking the past, and making a new start. ✓ Clear rules and discipline: The center operates according to a strict daily schedule and its own internal rules. This helps filter out those who are only looking for temporary shelter and leaves people who are truly ready to work on themselves. ✓ Comprehensive support: Each participant is supported by a team of mentors, psychologists, and counselors. They help not only overcome addiction, but also develop basic life skills, learn how to manage finances wisely, and rebuild trusting relationships with loved ones. ✓ Professional reintegration: The program supports people in gaining a new profession or restoring their previous one and helps them move toward future employment. ✓ Work with families: Since addiction affects the entire surrounding environment, the center’s specialists actively work with the relatives of participants, helping them overcome co-dependency and learn how to support their loved one properly on the path to change. Main Goal: A Zone of Trust Step by step, the zone of trust around each participant expands, and they are gradually entrusted with greater responsibility for their own lives. The goal of the Personality Recovery Centers is not merely to “change behavior” for a while, but to form a mature and responsible person who is able to live soberly, make healthy decisions, and become truly useful to their family and society.

HEATING POINTS Every year, when the cold season begins, the New Life Christian Mission sets up mobile warming points. For people who, because of difficult life circumstances, have ended up on the streets, these tents become not just a temporary shelter, but a real lifeline and a place where they can find warmth, support, and hope for something better. What do the warming points offer? In harsh winter frost, each tent is equipped with everything necessary for basic survival and comfort. Inside, people can find: ✓ Warmth and rest: stoves are working, tables and benches are arranged, and comfortable sleeping places are available where a person can warm up and sleep peacefully. ✓ Hot meals: visitors receive hot lunches and tea every day, helping them regain strength. ✓ Basic necessities: the Mission provides clean, warm clothing and footwear for those who need them. ✓ Medical help: first aid can be received on site, and if necessary, people are referred to a hospital. ✓ Spiritual support: every evening, ministers and pastors share testimonies and the Word of God. This encourages people to think about change, and many decide to go to social adaptation centers in order to begin a new life. How and where does it work? Such warming points operate every year in Odesa, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia. They work around the clock thanks to fruitful cooperation with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the local police. Depending on the location and weather conditions, one point receives from 50 to 300 visitors every day. In addition to the traditional warming points for homeless people, with the beginning of the full-scale war the Mission opened a large “Point of Invincibility” on Kulikove Pole Square in Odesa. This huge tent is designed for 150 people. Local residents and displaced persons can warm themselves, charge their phones, use free Wi-Fi, drink hot tea with cookies, and feel safety and comfort even during the longest blackouts. Impressive statistics over 12 years of work 115,000 people received life-saving support. 601,310 portions of hot food were distributed to those who were hungry. 130,000 liters of hot tea warmed those who were freezing. 80,236 people underwent fluorography and HIV/AIDS screening. 4,620 people received first aid on site, and 1,615 were hospitalized. 3,412 people were inspired to change their lives and went to social rehabilitation centers to complete a recovery program. These tents are not just places where people can hide from severe frost. For many, they become a meeting place with love and the beginning of a journey from hopelessness to restoration. Social Canteen “Feed the Hungry” For some people, a hot meal is a normal part of everyday routine, but for hundreds of people who have been left without homes or means of survival, it is a luxury. Every day, many elderly people, homeless individuals, and those affected by war face the threat of malnutrition, lacking even the most basic necessities. < That is why for more than 15 years the New Life Christian Mission has been carrying out the charitable project “Feed the Hungry,” organizing social canteens and daily distributions of hot meals. For many people, a bowl of hot soup, a piece of bread, and a glass of compote become a true rescue. More Than Just Food Feeding people is not only a way to satisfy physical hunger, but also an expression of love, humanity, and attention to those whom society often does not notice at all. Every portion served becomes an invitation to dialogue. The Mission’s volunteers speak with people, listen to their pain, fears, and stories. Very often it is here, over a cup of hot tea, that a person’s path toward change begins. The Beginning of a New Life The “Feed the Hungry” project is a search for those who want change but do not know where to begin. For many homeless people, free meals become the first step toward rescue. ✓ A new chance: people learn about the opportunity to go to social adaptation centers. ✓ Life-saving information: the news is passed on by word of mouth, and those who yesterday suffered in darkness today find a way out. ✓ Full restoration: after moving to the centers, people receive a roof over their heads, psychological and spiritual help, as well as the skills needed to return to a full life and employment. Hundreds of people have traveled the road from homelessness and hunger to restoration. Some of them have themselves become Mission volunteers today, helping others just as they once were helped. They are living proof that hope exists and that even after the darkest times, a bright future is possible. The social canteen is a reminder to every person that they are seen, valued, and given a chance at a new life. Life of the Social Canteen

Social Bakery The war in Ukraine has been ongoing for four years. At a time when infrastructure is being destroyed, power outages occur, and people live in constant instability, it is extremely important to bring hope and confidence in the future. For this purpose, a Social Bakery of the Christian Mission “New Life” has started operating in Odesa as part of the project “Share Bread with the Hungry”. Here, fragrant bread and various bakery products are already being baked. A key feature of this bakery is that it is equipped to operate completely independently of unstable electricity and gas supply, which is critically important in wartime conditions. Who is this bread for? This work has become an effective tool of assistance within the program “Help to Survive. Ukraine”. Every day, freshly baked bread is used to support the most vulnerable groups of the population: internally displaced persons, large families, and lonely residents of Odesa. Bakery products are regularly distributed to support the following key initiatives: ✓ Shelter for the elderly and people with disabilities✓ Mother and Child Home✓ Heating points and Points of Invincibility✓ Social canteens for vulnerable groups✓ Personal Recovery Center project Daily food distribution at the railway square A special focus of the project “Share Bread with the Hungry” is daily outreach work on the streets of the city. Every day, volunteers of the Mission organize food distribution at the railway square in Odesa for the poorest, the homeless, and everyone in need. In these difficult times, a plate of hot food and freshly baked bread from our Social Bakery becomes a real спасение and an expression of love for many people. Together with food, we distribute Christian magazines and literature. For many, these materials become comfort and a spiritual guide that helps them find faith, stay strong, and take the first step toward change — for example, going to a rehabilitation center of the Mission. This project is an optimistic beginning of an extremely important ministry, based on a deep belief that the warmth of fresh bread and the warmth of a human heart can heal. We sincerely thank our friends and international partners who, during the most difficult times, do not leave the civilian population of Ukraine, open new opportunities for us, and extend a helping hand. Together — to victory! Life of the Social Bakery

Help to Survive According to international studies, more than 8.8 million Ukrainians (approximately 25–30% of the population) live below the poverty line. This figure continues to grow and may reach 14 million people by the end of the year. Behind every number there is pain, confusion, and a strong need not to be left alone. This is why the humanitarian project “Help to Survive” exists. It is a network of aid collection and distribution points made possible by the generosity of ordinary people. What is unnecessary for one person can become real help for another. Anyone in need can come to these centers, find clothing, shoes, and basic necessities. Volunteers also prepare and send humanitarian aid to orphanages, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers every day. The most important thing is care. Here people are listened to, supported, and helped through difficult times. “Help to Survive” in India Since 2019, the mission has been helping vulnerable people in India — a country with deep inequality. Millions live in extreme poverty without access to education or work. Clean water is also a critical issue — millions suffer from diseases due to unsafe water. Volunteers provide clean water, clothing, and support, and share hope with people. Photo Gallery
