THE SHELTER CONSTRUCTION MOVES TO A NEW STAGE: THE SECOND FLOOR IS TAKING SHAPE
The Christian Mission "New Life" continues building a shelter for elderly people, people with disabilities, and those who have found themselves in difficult life circumstances. The latest phase of work confirms that this large-scale social project is steadily moving forward.
At the current stage, construction crews are pouring concrete columns — the load-bearing structures that will carry the weight of the entire building. Once this stage is complete, the team will move on to preparing the second-floor walls of the residential building.
The scale of the project is striking: once completed, the complex will be able to house 310 residents at a time, with part of the space allocated to a specialized wing for severely ill people who require ongoing medical care. In terms of size, it will be one of the largest shelters of its kind in Europe.
Orphanhood is usually thought of as parents abandoning their children. But there is another, less visible form of it — adult children abandoning their elderly parents. This is the form of abandonment that residents of the future shelter encounter most often: elderly people, people with disabilities, and those who went through a crisis and were left on their own.
The project moves forward thanks to people who have supported the construction financially for years and helped spread the word about it. Every contribution — and every share — brings the moment closer when the first residents will be able to move in and begin a peaceful life.
We sincerely thank every friend and partner who has stood with us throughout these years. Thanks to your trust and support, the project keeps moving forward, and every new stage of construction brings closer the day when thousands of people will have a roof over their heads, care, and a dignified life.
