A SMALL CELEBRATION THAT BRINGS BIG EMOTIONS TO CHILDREN

At a time when Ukrainian children are learning far too early what air raid alerts, danger, and the worries of the adult world mean, it is especially important to create a place where they can simply be children.

That is exactly what the Children’s Day at the Christian Center “Awakening” is about. It is not just a few hours of activities or entertainment. It is a time when children can leave their worries behind, meet friends, laugh, play, dance, and simply enjoy the joy and freedom of childhood.

Here, children take part in fun games, learn something new, sing, dance, communicate with one another, and spend time together. After the activities, they can enjoy sweets and warm fellowship.

These may seem like simple things. But today, they have a special value.

For a child, the opportunity to run freely, laugh with others, and forget for at least a few hours about everything happening around them can become a real little celebration. Here, there is no need to be strong or to grow up faster than they should. Here, children can simply play.

It is especially precious to hear children’s voices and sincere laughter. They remind us why it is so important to continue creating such moments and gatherings.

Every day God gives us is made up of moments. And we want children to remember not only the difficult events of today, but also the good things: friends, music, dancing, sweets, games, laughter, and the feeling that there are people nearby who truly care about them.

Children’s Day is a small space of joy in the midst of difficult times. A place where childhood can remain childhood.
