A new beginning for Yulia and Danilko

The Mother and Child Home of the Christian Mission “New Life” welcomed new residents—a young mother, Yulia, and her little son, Danilko.

The juvenile police of the Odessa region contacted us with a request to provide the woman and child with a safe haven. Yulia has been through many difficult circumstances: orphanhood since adolescence, forced relocation due to war, family breakdown, and a long search for a stable place to live. The previous conditions in which she and Danilko found themselves proved dangerous, and she decided to change the situation. It was this decision that brought her to us.

Danilko is a small and gentle boy who immediately attracts attention with his calm nature. Yulia is a young mother who, despite all the difficulties, has retained a sincere desire to give her son a normal childhood and a stable future. She is not looking for pity — she is looking for an opportunity. And the mission is ready to provide that opportunity.

The mission immediately provided Yulia and Danilko with safe housing, necessary items, and support from our staff. Now they have space to recover and begin building stability—calmly, step by step.

At the Mother and Child Home, each family receives not only a roof over their heads, but also support: consultations, assistance in completing paperwork, and support in resolving domestic and social issues. We are convinced that it is a systematic approach, rather than one-time assistance, that yields long-term results. Yulia has already been included in this process, and the first steps have been taken.

Situations like the one Yulia finds herself in happen more often than you might think. Young moms who are left alone to deal with tough circumstances often don't need a lot of help, just simple but timely support. A safe place. Time. Support nearby.

The Mother and Child House exists for this very purpose. Over the years, we have taken in dozens of families, each with their own unique story. What unites them is that they came at a time when they really needed it and left feeling more confident and ready to move on.
